The Influence of Water Addition on Solutions of FeCl^ in Isopropanol
نویسندگان
چکیده
By means of Optical Absorption, EPR and Mössbauer techniques it is demonstrated that the addit ion of small amounts of water to solutions of FeCl 3 in isopropanol enhances the concentration of [FeCl4]" complexes, this addition leading also to the formation of ferric dimers involving two Fe —OH" bridges. An explanation of this fact based on the disproport ionation of FeCl3 and water hydrolysis is reported.

Removal of Natural Organic Matter (NOM), Turbidity, and Color of surface water by integration of enhanced coagulation process and direct filtration
This work assesses the efficiency of integrated enhanced coagulation and direct filtration processes for the removal of color, turbidity, and natural organic matter (NOM) from surface water. The processes were conducted in a simulated pilot. The operating conditions of the treatment process, including pH, FeCl3 dose, and influent flow, were investigated. Following that, its efficienc...
متن کاملThe low frequency modes of solvated ions and ion pairs in aqueous electrolyte solutions: iron(ii) and iron(iii) chloride.
We have investigated the hydration dynamics of solvated iron(ii) and iron(iii) chloride. For this, THz/FIR absorption spectra of acidified aqueous FeCl2 and FeCl3 solutions have been measured in a frequency range of 30-350 cm(-1) (≈1-10 THz). We observe a nonlinear concentration dependence of the absorption, which is attributed to the progressive formation of chloro-complexes of Fe(ii) and Fe(i...
متن کاملThe simultaneous removal of turbidity and humic substances from water using the enhanced coagulation process
This study aimed to investigate the efficiency of the enhanced coagulation (EC) process for the simultaneous removal of turbidity and humic substances (HS) from raw water from the Sanandaj Water Treatment Plant (SWTP). This study was conducted on a laboratory scale using a jar test device and ferric chloride (FeCL3) as the coagulant. Accordingly, the effects of pH and coagulant dosag...
متن کاملInfluence of Curing Time and Water Content on Unconfined Compressive Strength of Sand Stabilized Using Epoxy Resin
Improvement and stabilization of soils are widely used to improve the physical and mechanical properties of sandy soils. Despite the abundance of researchers that have been conducted on this topic to date, most of them have focused on dry soil. The effects of the existing water in the soil and different curing durations (curing environment) have not been investigated. In this study, different p...
متن کاملInfluence of cement content on concrete performance in corrosive environments (sea water)
In this study, the effect of cement content on concrete performance in corrosive environments is investigated on concrete mixtures having the same water/cement (w/c) ratio. Three w/c ratios (0.40, 0.45 and 0.50) were used and for each w/c ratio three mixtures were prepared with cement contents 350, 400 and 450 kg/m3. The compressive strength, electrical resistivity and chloride diffusivity of t...
